Fees

Fees

We want you to understand the fees at Piedmont Counseling Center. Fees vary, depending on the counselor and service provided. In general, our fees range from 120-175. Our staff is credentialed with the following: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance, Cigna, Aetha. Not all staff are credentialed with all plans but all of our staff are licensed and many plans allow for out of network coverage.  In such cases, you would pay our staff and your insurance company would reimburse you (with proper documentation from our staff) Please contact your insurance company to verify if your plan has a mental health benefit including the following: Deductible, copay, whether or not the plan will pay for out of network, and whether or not pre-authorization is required.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Fees for mental health services are as follows:

Initial session: $150 (the initial session includes diagnostic interview)

Individual Psychotherapy, couples therapy, and family therapy: $120 (generally a 55 minute session)

Consultation fees and non-therapy fees for such services as workshops and teaching vary and will be explained prior to the delivery of service.

Our clinical staff are all licensed in the state of North Carolina and it is likely insurance will pay at least a portion of your services. This is at the discretion of your insurance company, and even for plans for which we are network providers, we can’t know for sure if they will cover our services.

You are ultimately responsible for paying for the services you receive and payment is due when the service is provided. Some patients choose to pay for services out of pocket and then submit the required documentation (which our staff will provide) to insurance for reimbursement. Other patients desire higher levels of privacy and do not want their diagnosis or treatment recorded by their insurance and therefore choose to pay for our services privately by cash, check, or credit card.

After you have spoken with our patient coordinator and learned more about our staff and treatment options, we recommend that you call your insurance company to find out what your out-of-pocket expenses for counseling will be.

When you call them, you will need the following to estimate your out-of-pocket expense:

  • the counselor’s information (which we will provide).
    • Does my plan have a mental health benefit?
    • What is my in network benefit for mental health?
    • What is my out of network benefit for mental health?
    • Does my plan cover the services of:
      • Psychologist (Dr. Spriggs)
      • Licensed Professional Counselor (Mr. Adams)
      • Social Worker (Ms. Yates)
  • Do I have a deductible?
    • How much is the deductible?
    • How much do I have left to pay this year?
  • Do I have a copay?
  • How much is my copay?
